SECTION 2: VERBAL CONDUCT
All communication — whether through voice, text, or emotes — must maintain immersion and uphold the integrity of the roleplay environment. Speech that breaks character, introduces toxicity, or disrupts immersion will be met with immediate disciplinary action.
2.01 – HATE SPEECH & DISCRIMINATORY LANGUAGE
Tier 6 Violation Any language that attacks, mocks, or discriminates against another individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or similar traits is strictly prohibited. This includes explicit slurs (e.g., ableist, homophobic, or racial slurs) or disguised variants. There are no exceptions — context does not justify hate speech.
2.02 – OUT-OF-CHARACTER TALK & IMMERSION BREAKING
Tier 5 Violation You are required to remain in-character at all times when roleplaying. Using terminology or references that do not exist in the roleplay world is forbidden, including but not limited to:
“Discord” or “Admin/Staff” references
Roleplay terms (RDM, VDM, NVL, OOC)
“Report,” “Green Zone,” or similar server terms
Phrases like “bad interaction” that break the roleplay barrier
For alternative terms, refer to our in-game and Discord roleplay glossary. Breaking immersion damages the experience for everyone and will be handled strictly.
2.03 – CHARACTER NAMES, VOICES & HOT-MICING
Tier 1–2 Violation (Escalates if repeated) Characters must have believable names that fit the roleplay setting — unrealistic, joke, or troll names are not permitted. Voice changers are allowed only if the altered voice remains clear and realistic (e.g., deeper tone for a criminal scenario is acceptable; robotic or cartoonish voices are not). Hot-mic incidents — leaving your microphone open unintentionally or broadcasting non-roleplay conversations — are strictly prohibited.
2.04 – TROLLING & ROLEPLAY SABOTAGE
Tier 4 Violation Intentional trolling — actions taken purely to disrupt or ruin the roleplay experience of others — will not be tolerated. This includes:
Refusing to participate in roleplay scenarios
Performing unrealistic or nonsensical actions to provoke others
Deliberately creating chaos or derailing events
Staff will determine severity and apply appropriate punishment.
2.05 – SEXUAL ROLEPLAY & INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT
Tier 5 Violation Explicit sexual roleplay is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to:
Forcing another player into sexual emotes or actions
Suggestive gestures or emotes in public spaces (e.g., carrying someone to “simulate” sexual acts)
Sexualized actions involving unwilling participants or minors
ImpulseRP maintains a zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct.
2.06 – HARASSMENT & TARGETED TOXICITY
Tier 5 Violation Harassment, bullying, or targeting individuals — either in-character or out-of-character — is forbidden. Examples include:
Excessive name-calling or derogatory language
Threatening statements or personal attacks
Encouraging self-harm (“KYS,” etc.)
Taking in-character conflicts into real life spaces (Discord, DMs, social media)
Claiming “it was just RP” is not an excuse; harmful behavior is punishable regardless of context.
2.07 – COMMUNITY DISRESPECT & OUTSIDE DRAMA
Tier 5 Violation Publicly disrespecting the community, its staff, or its players — whether in Discord, Twitch, social media, or other platforms — is strictly prohibited. This includes:
Spreading false narratives or rumors about staff or players
Publicly disparaging the server
Attempting to incite division among community members
Behavior that drags OOC drama into IC scenarios will also result in disciplinary action.
